We woke up to rainy weather, can’t let that stop us though. We decided to walk to Paddy’s market and Chinatown, finishing up in Darling Harbor.   There is quite a large Asian population in Sydney and Chinatown reflects that, it is quite large with a nice selection of markets and restaurants.  It was about a 1 1/2 walk for us to Chinatown and Paddy’s market but seeing as it was early Saturday morning the streets were not very crowded. I am sure the weather also had something to do about it. It kept raining on and off all day, while we were in the market it poured, we seemed to have timed that pretty well.  Paddy’s market is like a huge indoor flea market selling everything from souvenirs to massages.  Believe it or not I did not buy anything here but Kelly bought himself two shirts.  I am saving myself for Hong Kong, now there I will probably do some major damage shopping, haha.

Can you imagine ordering duck and having it served with the head still on, Yuck!

Sydney, Australia, Day 2 010

They drive on the opposite side of the road than us and it takes some getting used to, so now they are helping us by reminding us to look right first before crossing the roads.

Now off to Darling Harbor and the Maritime Museum,  we only have a couple of hours before we have to head for the ship  departure at 5:00.  Kelly opted to tour the Captain Cook’s S/V Endeavor & the H.M.S. Vampire , the regular admission price is $25 but for senior $10, they sure are generous to their seniors here.  I just walked around the harbor area people watching and taking photos, Sydney is a great place to people watch.

All aboard for our departure , we weighed anchor and Kelly and I were treated to some beautiful views of the Opera House, Sydney skyline ,  and the many districts surrounding Sydney.

Till tomorrow

Some great photo’s Angie! OK, what’s with the lady in the all pink outfit? I was in Hong Kong back in 1962. Wired home for money to buy clothe’s tailor made. Shark skin suit and cashmere top coat were the biggies. Cleaners ruined the suit in Mich.
