Our Last Day

April 30

Day 114

I cannot believe our trip is ending tomorrow. I remember getting on the ship thinking  “ Oh my God I have another 114 days to go, what have I done”.  Now I have real mixed emotions about it coming to an end. I am anxious to get home see my mom and friends, getting back to tennis , wondering if my cat will want to come back home and on the other hand there are so many things I will miss on The Amsterdam.  I will miss sitting on the balcony in the morning with my coffee watching the sun rise over the ocean. Hearing our room stewards Denny & Rifan singing, greeting me every day “ Good morning Madame Angie” with a big smile.  Having to decide what our we going to do for breakfast, room service, the main dining room, or the Lido breakfast buffet where Ian, Eli and Widi greet with a smile then get our coffee, paper and Eli gets Mr. George a blueberry pancake..  Then once we come back from breakfast, our bed is made, the bathroom is cleaned leaving us  fresh towels, a bucket of ice and all nice and tidy.  Our port talks with Barbara our travel guide giving us all the history and interesting facts on our ports of call.  Now we are starting to get close to lunch time, so many choices to make either the main dining room, up to the Lido for a buffet or out to the Lido pool for burgers, hot dogs or pizza.  The afternoon on sea days either Mahjong or the movies complete with popcorn.   Time to shower and get ready for happy hour, sometimes we had guests over for drinks out on the balcony.  Dinner at the main dining room, The Lido or the 24 hour room service.   At 8:00 p.m is some type of show in the Queen’s lounge,  some good some not so good.  Off to bed to rest up for another great day on board or explore some new port.

Tomorrow is back to reality

Angie

P.S. I have not posted many of the last ports of call if any of you are still interested I will do it when I get home.

Welcome home. When we return from our son’s heart surgery in Boston, we will have to have you to our lido deck for drinks!

Back to reality, how true. Upon your return to reality you may need to schedule a session with the Shrink to decompress or, better still, hire full time help.
    Can’t wait to see you

We were so jealous of you and your long voyage that we booked a trip to Tahiti. We leave 5/17/13. Hope to get in touch with you before then.
