Marmaris sits between the Aegean and the Mediterranean with one of the largest natural harbors  makes for a perfect yachting center.  The Netsel Marina rivals ones I have seen in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale with the large mega yachts from all over the world and there are plenty of yacht charters here , may have to give that some thought for the future, this looks a great area for sailing lots of nooks and crannies to anchor and explore plus the water is very clean & clear.   I have to admit this was nothing of what I expected at this port, the opulence was very surprising.  we walked around the marina area first where Kelly drooled over the  sailboats, lots of Bavarias, Hinckleys and Beneteaus.   The waterfront is lined with outdoor cafes and restaurants with a few carpet shops thrown in here and there.  There is a fortress at the top of the hill in the middle of town, the views from here are fabulous, perfect place for a house but I can see why they built the fortress here, you have a great view of the entrance to the harbor, nobody was going to enter without being seen.  We had a nice leisurely day today exploring on our own, once back on board we were treated to a belly dance. Tomorrow a sea day, we need to relax as the following days we have back to back tours scheduled.

Stay tuned
